It is obvious.
Tobacco companies have money and power.
Poor kids don't.
So much for Compassionate Conservatism.
That is all there is to it.
There is no other reason.

Its all about the Cash Flow. And poor people don't have any.
Think on a larger scale, the Planet is the setting, and in order to become a player one must have the money in order to play, NO MON NO FUN! Its time to reorganize the unbalanced classes of America.. The rich are a very small amount of people and the poor are very large. The middle class are fairly big but being stripped every passing month and pushed into the poor class.
This is what baffels me, I mean don't the rich people know that eventually the masses will rise up and slaughter them for their mistreatment? No amount of Money can protect them. When the poor get organized and grow a spine they will trample under foot the rich... America's time has come to be Revamped and nothing can save them from it.
Dark days ahead people and those with young children, well it's just too bad, The only bright light I can offer is keep your gun loaded, and aim for the head. Good night and Good luck....

Interesting... the Tobacco companies won't be paying the TAX increase that they (Congress) intend to use to pay for further increases in SCHIP.
WHY not increase taxes on something else... something MORE people use (make the tax FAIR) Why not a FAST-FOOD TAX ?? Or an Alcohol-tax ??
As I understand it, President Bush has vetoed the SCHIP legislation because Congress is trying to extend coverage to the children of middle income parents.
I agree... I don't think the Government SHOULD be in the business of National Health Care..

The end product of poison that the tobacco companies produce has been around for many years through many administrations. Goes to show you how strong corporate money is. Don't hold your breath if even the most liberal of all (Hillary) gets into office. This is a legal matter for the courts to handle and they won't ever challenge tobacco since that would cause a domino effect of every corporation that produces cancer or disease causing products from oil refineries, pharmaceutical companies to food manufacturers. Our government doesn't care about the public who use these products, period!!!!

"Poor kids" get health coverage, it's called Medicaid. "Old people" get health coverage, it's called Medicare. The tobacco industry and other large corporations are already heavily taxed. To punish these industries further would be to punish society. It's a domino effect!!

Another arguement adhominim. Really--grow up--one thing doesn't have anything to do with the other. What you posted is SPIN and nothing more--you don't like the president so you connect two unconnected ideas to derive a supporting connotation for the false intial premise. Another words a cute way to really lie about something and gather support and appear to be a good person--when in reality--it is a lie-and it attempts to damage another through the deception.

Well to tell you the truth it is all about the money. Tobaco is one of the top money makers for our country. We are i \n debt and all any one worries about is money and fighting honestly they wont stop their pride long enough to even see that poor children are dieing. Money and war is what our country is based off of. This is my own personal opinion sorry if I offend any one but I hope I answered this question.
