Proceed forthwith to the nearest retail store and purchase a can of compressed air and blow the crumbs and dust out.
or...
Use a butterknife to pop the keys off and get at the inside from there. You may want to take a photograph of the keys before doing so, and don't bother with the space bar, the enter button, or any of the bigger buttons (shift, backspace, etc.) because they often have a different spring mechanism that includes small parts which are harder to reassemble.

There are some good cleaners out there. Basically it is compressed gas of some kind. It blows all the grime out from between the keys but is safe on electronic equipment. Just wiping off the keys after the computer is off is good, but it cannot get all the grime out from between them. You can get some at any electronics store probably, but if you are having trouble finding it, Radio Shack sells them I know.

get a can of compressed air with a nozzle you can point between the keys and blow all the crumbs out of there. I eat at my computer a lot ;) or you can turn it upside down and bang it on teh desk to get the crap out from between the keys.
