sure...anorexia is starving your body...if you hadn't been starving yourself long enough yet you could be overweight and still be doing the same thing to your body.

Yes, but that would be at the beginning of the illness. It is mostly talked about when people who are thin still see themselves as fat. This is the most obvious time it is discovered by family and friends as they can see the large amount of weight lost. When a fat person looses weight people may just assume they are on a diet. Once a person gets underweight that is when people get alarmed. But being anorexic is less about how much you weigh and more about your thoughts on food. If a person starves themselves and avoids food at all cost then they are considered to be anorexic. It is an obsession to loose weight and they think about it all the time. they may start to eat less and less until they are eating just say an apple in a whole day. Some will just eat a little in front of people so people don't get suspicious. Always best to get treated at the early stages.

I was told that i was obese at one point but anorexic and landed myself if the hospital for malnutrition. I did not believe the doctor because he just said i was OBESE so wtf!? Years later I am still struggling from this but not obese anymore now im overweight. Losing 68 pounds in less than 2months and then putting 20 back on in 4months but always seeing food as the enemy and supposedly starving myself but not rail thin like what people assume anorexia to be. I wish the best for you and am still trying to be healthy myself. It is a struggle!

yes of course! anorexia is a state of mind, an illness. it's as if you said "can you have down syndrom and be fat at the same time" eventually you'll lose weight but you can die before looking like a skeleton. because fat people NEED more food.
it's also as if you were saying can fat people be hungry lol

if the definition of anorexic is that throwing up the food one has already eaten then that could happen. but if anorexic is the state of the body of the skeleton and skin, then no.

anorexia is determined by consuming less than 800 calories in any given 24 hour period, so yes, you can be obese and anorexic at the same time.

Don't anorexic sufferers actually see themselves as fat?

I'd say yes because if you started suffering this disease when you were carrying extra weight, it's possible.

If this is about you, please get some professional help.
