There is no secret. It just takes commitment. You have to remember what ever you did to get that person is what you need to continue to do to keep that person! People forget that in a marriage and they get too comfortable. They start taking their spouse for granted and stop doing the things they use to do, but this is why your spouse fell in love with you so its important to keep it in your relationship.

Have fun together. That's all. Too many times married couples get into a routine, with the kids, the school, the homework, the work etc. And forget that before they were parents they were best friends and lovers.
Go out at least once every two weeks and do crazy stuff like you did before. Be spontaneous and have fun and laugh. Forget about the kids, the house, the mortgage and just have fun. I think it's the best way to remain best friends and lovers.
Good luck

Be his best friend ... and be helpful to him in his work. Cheer him on, especially when he's feeling bad or down. Be his playmate ... even be 'a kid' with him on occasion.
I know this because I have had the BEST teacher in the world ... my husband. He's not just INTERESTED in me, he's 'madly in love' with me. We've been married only 10 years but I figure we could be married for 110 years and he'd be just as much in love with me. Of course I did 'pick a winner' ... the day we really started to get to know each other, he told me he was looking for 'one and only one woman for the rest of my life.' I was jealous of her that day ... and laughed myself silly when I realized I had been jealous of myself. It didn't take long ... we met on Sept. 1, and were best friends ... started going together on Nov. 11, and got married on Valentine's Day (HIS choice of days, not mine)! Yes, he's my 'special Valentine' ... FOREVER AND BEYOND.

Don't try to change him or make him feel like he isn't doing enough for you. If you think that way, then you will never be happy. But If you appreciate him for who he is, and you are of course not a psycho or a drama queen, he will learn to need you.

Don't let yourself go. I've heard of too many stories where once the wedding ring was on, one spouse or the other started gaining weight, or not taking care of themselves, what have you.

How many times do we have to answer this?
1) give him a BJ
2) make him a sandwich
3) stop yapping
That's it! Lather, rinse, repeat!

Smiles and conversation. Always greet each other with a smile, sparkling eyes and a kiss. Listen to each other and I mean really listen.
