Well...in the Bible it represented knowledge of good and evil, as in sin. it was a sinless world then, boom, they took a bite and became aware of their flesh if you will, the sinful side of flesh...look at the seven deadlies for examples. In these times, I think we all have our own forbidden fruit, that if we partake, leads us to sin...for me it's booze and drugs. For others it could be money, for others, sex, for others food...you get the idea.

There is no god, consequently there is no forbidden fruit. The story of genesis is simply the confabulation of a tale created by a male that has the nuances for contributing to the ongoing belief that women are responsible for corrupting the morals of males. How ridiculous. And what a cop out.

The things that look appealing to us, but weren't meant for us to have. And even if we would acquire those things, it would bring happiness to us. Only temporarily, but in the long run, there would be dire consequences of our actions.
