I remember seeing the first one and it just blowing me away with how psychologically frightening it was. There was gore, yes, but I remember the terror of being in those situations, particularly with the doctor who knew his family was about to be murdered. That, to me, is the scariest.
The second and third ones were good as well; I loved the twist to the second one, and the third one was unexpected as well. I'm going to see the fourth one tonight and am looking forward to it.
(The fifth one is slated for an October 29, 2008 release.)

I would have to say Saw 1. The first ones, in my opinion are usually the best. But I think this one had the biggest twist at the end. However, it is close between 2 and 3. I saw Saw 4 two nights ago. It wasn't as scary as I would have liked, but there were definitely more twists. Is it true they are contracted to make 7 Saws?

I haven't see the 4th one yet, but out of the first 3 I'd have to say the original Saw was the best. It was the first if its kind and I don't think that any other Saw movie could get the same reaction from its viewers.

I, like most people on here, haven't seen the 4th one yet and am looking forward to when I get the chance to.
Out of first 3, I liked the 2nd one, because I thought I knew what to expect, but I was wrong. I am pretty good at figuring things out, so when they revealed the "it was stealing you in the face all along" moment with the safe (I am not going to spoil it for anyone who happens to read this and hasn't seen it yet), I was very, pleasantly, suprised.

I really liked the second and third ones the best just because of the plots. We saw the 4th one on Monday, it was good but not my favorite.

The 3rd or the 2nd, I liked the twists in both of them, they were believeable. I wish to God someone would find the daughter from Saw 3 :-(
