I have about .75 acre of land with a very lot of leaves. Beside hiring someone to remove the leaves, I'm looking for suggestions on the easiest and quickest way to pick-up/remove the leaves. It will, basically, be me, my wife, a couple of rakes and a lawn mower. Thanks

We have a ton of trees and a HUGE yard.. This time of year though pretty involves the task of leaf removal. So, I suggest you mow over as much as you can.. Your mower will mulch the leaves which is good for the grass- This will keep the work load "lighter"... Also, if you have a leaf pick-up a tarp is good to rake the leaves onto and put on your tree lawn. INSTEAD of bagging them all into paper/plastic lawn/leaf bags.. If you do not have such a service then you'll have to bag them... We have woods behind our home so in the backyard we rake them onto a tarp and drag them to the woods and dispose of them there. It usually takes us w/ my husband the lawn mower and two rakes about 7-8 hours to competely rake/mow our yard. The neighbors have a really cool mower that vacuums up the leaves... So, for the same size yard it takes them about an hour or less ! good luck

My maple trees give me the same situation. I used to work my butt off raking, bagging, etc. Go to the home improvement store and buy and install a mulching blade. If your mower has a bag, take it off and cover the opening. One or two passes - no more leaves! And the organic matter feeds the lawn.

I have only one acre and a lot of leaves. I have a riding lawn mower that mulches (has a mulching blade) and throws the ground-up product into detachable buckets. I empty the buckets where I make compost for next years garden.
You might be able to purchase a mulching blade for your mower which will help with the enormity of your task.

With that kind of area to clean up, you should consider investing in a Little Wonder, they're pretty amazing. Looks like a round box fan on a dolly, & boy does it move the leaves.
If it's not in the budget this year, at least get some tarps to move the piles where you need to.
