You don't need a dial up connection to connect to broadband; dial up does not connect to broadband; 56k and below uses dial up.

when you've got a broadband connection to the internet, why need the dial-ip connection? you only need one.

When I got my DSL, my dial up had not expired, so I just left it on my computer, and my emails from that account, came in through my DSL connection. How I have no idea. I surely wouldn't pay for a dial up, if you have DSL, use AOL free, or Yahoo if you want additional email accounts.
