Witchcraft is against our religion.
Catholic Church teaches:
All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one's service and have a supernatural power over others - even if this were for the sake of restoring their health - are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion.
These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons.
Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another's credulity.

With love in Christ.

In both Catholic and Christian Religion, witch-craft is thought to be the devils work. Just like going to a fortune teller is cause they are "calling on dead spirts", Halloween is techincally not supposed to be celebrated either because the real meaning of Halloween was the day when the world of living and dead collide. (basically they are saying, or aleast the people at my church say it's a devil's day)
I'll ask my grandfather, who told me most of this, about why not and email you the excact answer when I can.

Because it is a completely different religion. It is considered evil and "devil worship"
And those of you saying Catholics are hypocrits, well do you know ALL Catholics? Besides aren't all religions full of hypocrits? Everyone thinks their way is the right way, not just Catholics.

Its not "fun" it's a way of life. The catholic religon cannot do this because they worship god.
Pagans, wiccans, etc. Worship gods and goddesses. They are two different religons.
Personally I dislike catholics because the bible that they go by is hypocritical. They say now its wrong to kill/beat women etc. But yet stand by the "Spare the rod, spoil the child."?

Like magic?- they love it, but they call it miracles. They turn bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus. It's not symbolic. It's real! They have statues that cry. They have people who have the wounds of Jesus-stigmata! And Jesus performed all kinds of magic (miracles). He turned water to wine, fed a crowd with a very small amount of fishes and loaves, he raised Lazarus from the dead, heck- he rose form the dead! And let's not forget about exorcism. Awesome!

Catholics are Christian. We don't practice witchcraft, it's against the religion. We worship God, we don't practice Wiccan.
Don't pay attention to the mish mash that pluto stated. He/She is generalizing that Catholics are guilty of everything that is in the posting they made. That's BS. MANY people, regardless of what religion they are, are guilty of the things that this person stated. Really pathetic to judge us that way.
