I'm a democrat, thus Dr. Paul and I differ on some very important fundamental issues. I don't know a bunch about him, but I have read where he stands on issues and I find him to be at least upstanding, though I believe the government needs to play much more of a role than he appears to.
With that said, he is completely unelectable, but I kind of like Gravel. I was actually incredibly frustrated that he was left out of the last democratic debate a few nights ago. One of my greatest fears at the moment is the power of the lobbies in Washington and if from what he has shown he is even more scared/mad about it as I am. I can also appreciate his position on most of the issues. Unfortunately I think he may be too progressive. At this point we need someone who will play the middle more that I believe he is prepared to. That actaully goes for both candidates.
At the end of the day I would say neither and I'm glad that it won't be Gravel running for the democrats. I also cannot support someone who actually wants to lower taxes at this point in time, even if it is with the concept of spending more responsibly (which I imagine also entails further underfunding things I find important (hey, I am a democrat)), and runs a pro-life platform. I don't think Ron Paul is a bad choice (unless it is true that he is a known racist which I had not heard until reading the answers to this question. I cannot accept that, but I would have to look into it futher before I would believe it, no offense GWIC.), but we have definite philosophical differences.
I have to note though that this isn't an equal lining up of candidates. The polls alone show that Ron Paul, though far out of the race, is more considerable than Sen. Gravel. I would consider Biden or Richardson as a more fair comparison.

Mike Gravel is my first choice. Ron Paul would be my third choice, and Dennis Kucinich is my second. I don't like any of the others at all. But, I have reason to believe that Hilary is the choice of the NWO Elite, and they always seem to get exactly what they want, whether the people like it or not. They, or course, don't give a rat's a$$ what the people want. *sm*

I thought this would be hard, but as gruff as he is Mike Gravel makes alot of sense.
Ron Paul scares me. He believes in such a small government I think it teeters on no government at all. Plus he's a known racist.
