When someone annoys us, why say bite me? That would hurt me!

It would make more sense to say "bite you", wouldn't it?

Unfortunately I think I know the answer. It is like saying "blow me". I think obscene phrases like this sometimes become mainstream and later most people don't know the origin. There are a few other phrases that I cringe in hearing, like "screw you" and "that sucks" that only 11 year old boys used to say. Well, at least they lost their old meaning.
Sometimes I think we have Bart Simpson to thank for all this!

i think people say bite me not bite you because it's kinda like saying, "wanna peace of me?" or "wanna try that again?". why would you want to bite someone that annoys you? that could make them more annoying.

also, it tells the annoying person you are mad enough to get bitten or have someone bite something, so they back off and leave you alone.

well, thats what i think

Bite Me probally is because if they bite your @$$ then they will have their mouths full and will stop insulting you!

Also its less offensive than some other saying we use!

well, the point is that the other person is annoying them so much that they might as well physically hurt them. they are saying they would rather feel pain then carry on whatever they were doing
