Why are the sizes of message I receive/send sometimes shown as mega and sometimes kilabites even when they might be over a meg?

that is how file sizes work. MB (megabyte) are a lot bigger than kilobyte (kB). KB"s make up MB's. There are 1024 KB's in 1 MB. I hope that helps.

It's simply a matter of how that particular chunk of software is written to "measure" the file/attachment size.

Some might depict it:
as an example, if might be shown as .7 MB and another will depict the same file as 700 KB.

It's the same. It's just the way the sofrware writer chose to depict it. Noting more.

What software are you using to acess the mail? Yahoo, Outlook Express, or something else. The answer is different for each program.

With most there is a size in KB where, if it exceeds that size, it changes to MBs instead. It varies with different programs.

Just remember kb are much smaller than megabytes (mb). about 1000 times so. good luck
