Absolutely, collect acorns or leaves. Learn to dance. Gardening isn't horribly expensive either, if you have the space and learn to compost: It is possible to get starts from neighborhood plants.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at knitting or crocheting? They can be a little hard at first, but I've made some wonderful warm blankets and things like that.

Or, since you have a computer, you probably have some form of paint or graphics program. See what you can do with that.

Good luck!

What about scrapbooking? I've done it for 3 years and it's a great way to look back on memories. It doesn't cost much, you can buy the supplies anywhere. Wal-Mart is probably the cheapest. Good luck!

I have found so much enjoyment by creating a combination of photo album/scrap book/journal entries. I asked my Mom for pictures she has of our family and the place and activities these pictures were taken in, included pictures of the newborn of my sisters, pictures with documentation of the names of those present in these activities, celebrations. honest disclosure of my assessment of my feelings around the interaction I experienced at these gatherings, photos, of the significant celebrations in my life, ie: degree achievement, the death of my father, (we celebrated his life achievements) photos of the biggest fish I have caught, (then released), etc.etc.etc. I have also just recently received the record of my geneology dating from the date of the birth of the original ancestor and his wife to this country in 1789, to this present generation. It's truly an amazing document. How the original spelling of my last name has been corrupted by the interpretation of how the word sounds because that sound, while spelled differently in the language of the country my ancestors immigrated from has the sound of its present spelling, my ancestors who resulted from adulturous sexual relationships, ancestors who were born before the marriage of their parents, (one of my paternal aunts being one of them)
The occupations, locations, and their changes, as well as the wills provided for the distribution of the meagre property acquired from the hard work of the deceased. It is truly an amazing, ongoing document, which will provide my survivors with the knowledge of where the DNA contributing to their existance, originated from, and how birth without matrimony was actually accepted because of the circumstances, including homesteading in distant, isolated geographical locations had no provisions for marriage. How the influcence of DNA is reflected in our natural ability, and is influential as represented by the concentrated focus I have in the artfrom revealed in my interest of the evolution of firearms. The original female, who was my grandmother X6 was a member of a family involved in the design and manufacture of firearms. I have collated all this data in one document. It is, truly, a unique documented. So, this is my suggestion for you to become involved in a new and inexpensive hobby.

Try excercising outdoors. Maybe not running because that's not really fun but you could bike ride.

Everyone's definition of "fun" is different.

-Stamp collecting (or any other type of collecting)
-Bird watching
-Knitting
-Making puzzles
-Writing stories or poetry
-Drawing
-All sorts of odd crafts
-Woodworking
-Braiding hair

The list is endless. It's really about what you like to do.
