your question's really interesting... honest. that's why I take a look and answered...
you must be a very careful person who gave a lot of thought before you act... I think you're amazing...
now... can you tell me which of the above comments is honest and which is not?
btw I couldn't quiet sure about the answer... I have no best answer... hopefully yet... but I think the probability of being honest in all your answers and being not honest in all of your answer is the same... because the number of people who prefer honesty and who prefer nice words should also be the same... (also the number of people who can see honesty and who can not)
the safest way to increase the probability of getting best answers might be to answer more... but it could be tiring...

Sadly, my answer to your question is "No."
Telling people what they want to hear is completely against the spirit of this site. Not only that, but it really does not offer anybody any *real* help with whatever issue(s) they may be seeking advice and information regarding.
If you're looking for more "Best Answer" credits, I would suggest taking the additional time to carefully craft your answers. As for myself, I'm only batting about 18.8% for my "Best Answers" (out of 425 answers, 80 were rated "Best" - I didn't even know it was tracked!). Then again, I'm not here for that - I'm here to try and help where possible.
...So I'd say if it means that much to you, put the extra time into giving knowledgable and complete answers - the kind that offer helpful advice and/or sympathy...or you could just say "the heck with it" when it comes to keeping track of who rates your answers best.

Will lets see, you say that you tell people what they want to hear. Are you sure are? Or did you tell them what you thought they wanted to hear? Either way will it really doesn't matters, because it is not the truth.
I work in a job where I have to tell it like it is, it may hurt some feeling but I have their respect. Once you do it, it become away of life you say thing without thinking because you do not want to hurt anyone feeling.
The truth is the best way to go. Remember if they ask you, tell them how you feel not how you think they want you to feel or think. I would say that I have to think on it, but do you really want to know how I feel or think on this matter.tell me what you think .

I think you,d ge more best answers if you are the first to answer a knowledge question correctly or answer those that were asked ages ago and be the only person to give an
answer ( or atleast only sensible answer) and then vote for your own.
In a matter of opinions people nearly always vote for those that agree with them - but I'm no toady.

There are some strange people on the web be your self, I do. if people don't pick your answer so what, it frustrates me when I put in the bloody effort I would like credit. After all its only points you get I have the satisfaction of knowing I gave a good responce but so does everyone, although not everyone has your taste keep trying> :-).

It is always best to be honest. But be diplomatic also. Do not hurt their feelings. Just try to help them. Read into the question and really try to understand what they are saying. As if they are a friend.

Quite likely. People enjoy hearing what they want to or having their own opinions reinforced and dislike having their opinions challenged or receiving answers they don't like.
So yeah, I'd say it's likely.
