It doesn't. Like stopping down a camera lens, looking through a pinhole or other small aperture increases your eye's depth of field. That lets you focus closer, so you can get closer and the object looks bigger.

It acts like a pinhole camera. And thus, it makes the image clearer if you have bad eyesight.

i dont think it does i just think that it helps focus your eye on one object
