It doesn't matter much to me. He is only hurting himself if he desides to not go. Oh Well.

I voted for the asterisk onine.
I'm glad he isn't going to be part of the Hall of Fame. I do wish we had a yes or no answer about him using steriods or performance drugs. But we don't. However, during his run this past summer, ESPN showed all of his homeruns. It was a countdown and back about 3-4 years ago, he was huge. And then the years that baseball got suspicious about steriods he shrunk down. So, if you are 100% clean and muscle, how do you go from being super huge and two years later 5 times smaller in size? If Pete Rose can't be there because of cheating, then Barry can't either!

He's just saying that now so that when the time comes it will appear that his feelings are not hurt if he doesn't get in, even though he will be crushed. Who wouldn't be after the career he has had?
As for the homerun record ball. If they have to put an asterisk beside it then it doesn't belong in the hall.

Who cares what he endorses. It is debateable if he didn't cheat his way to the top any way!!!
You don't need an asterix for his 756th home run ball. it is a different era. With different strike zones, mound height, ball changes, park fences being brought in, etc.
Babe Ruth came along when home run champions were in single didgits, and hit 60 out of the blue. Barry is no comparison.

I agree with him. They're mocking the biggest record in baseball. Steroids or not, Bonds is defenitely hall of fame worthy, but with no asterisks.

chances r he wont, just because of the steroid allegations and everything else, bonds is just in the MLB to play, he does not care about records, feats, the HOF etc. he just has compassion for the game.

Chances are, he won't be voted in for a while anyways, so it's not that big of a deal. It actually seems like he is doing the Hall a favor by takin this stance!

I don't blame him at all. It's so funny how many of you condemn Bonds without even an ounce of proof that he failed a steroid or drug test but yet will be total hypocrites & cheer Ankiel even though he was proven to be a cheater.

I hope he doesn't get in unless they open a cheaters wing. If he does get in and doesn't show up - who cares.

I think it's a cop out. He has enough money he can pretend not to care, but deep down I'm sure he does.
