Alot more than humans that would of been killed had it not been tested on animals.
You can reduce this number by being a test dummy, just go to your local pharmacy and ask them where to apply.

If you are talking about ALL testing (medical and otherwise) and ALL animals (from primates to mice), it MORE than anyone can count!!!!
When a new drug is starting to be tested, it is usually started with mice. A test callled an LD 50 is done. That is to determine the dosage of the medication that is FATAL to 50% of the test group. So, to find that magic number HUNDREDS in not THOUSANDS of mice are killed. So, it is really not possible to come up with a number.
That being said, medical testing is a necessary evil.

Let's just stop with all the animal testing questions on here! It is going to continue, and it's better than testing drugs and new medical advancements on humans! It is a necessary evil.

there are still companies like proctor and gamble to test household products and cosmetics on animals even though those tests are not required by law. so, are you asking about household chemical/ cosmetic testing or medical testing or both?
