Your simple question doesn't have a simple answer. What point are you considering as the boundary? At the equator or the poles? Reading the reference should equip you to give an intelligent answer.

The Atmosphere is really a thin envelope surrounding the earth:

So, the atmospheric depth is 30 km/6400 km= 0.5% of earth's radius
