My best mate's bro & his GIRLFRIEND have been together 14yrs! Have a house & 3 children together & still introduces her as his girl, not his partner, his wife or anythingelse.

I'd have the talk with him, again. 4 years and a child is long enough to "know." But he may not want to be married. Or be married to you. It's hard to say. You don't want to trick him into marrying you, how bad would that be? You have to be honest with one another. He may not be ready. Or there may be trouble in your relationship which seems indicitive of what marriage would be and he doesn't want THAT in his marriage. NO man marries a woman when there are big problems in the current situation. Did he promise to marry you already? He didn't tell anyone you're engaged, because you are not. Think about these things and evaluate whether or not this is the one for you.

I wouldn't worry about it personally. I find that marriage has little to do with the women themselves and more to do with men feeling like their losing their freedom. I don't speak from all, just from what I've seen. Plus they seem to think we're going to "change" as soon as the ring hits the finger, which also isn't true. Don't push him though hun, he will come around in his own time.

Just say hey, I want to get married. You never know he might be planning something for Christmas, but you have to let people know what you want, and not hope someone will pick up on clues, cause I never pick up on clues, so maybe he is the same.

Leave. If you want to get married, and he has no incline to marry you, why stay? Living together is not a ticket to marriage, so I just don't know why people do it, especially those that want to get married.
