People are forever defining what they personally would LIKE as the next STAGE of Evolution.
Do not view Evolution as though it were Religion.
Evolution does not do things as a kind benevolent father striving for your happiness. Evolution does not create 'World Peace' because some beauty contest bimbo thinks it would be nice.
It is driven by the relentless rules of survival of the fittest.
The notion that an eye driven species like humans are likely to start disregarding visual input is a bit silly.
Seriously, what observation of our society could possibly lead you to think the influence of beauty is diminishing?

If u see a guy, who looks like a beggar, or wuteva that seems harmful to u, of course you will also try to stay away from that guy right? (we would perceive he might distort money, where as he might be the owner of the only mansion in our neighborhood). so that is also judging a person by their looks. and i think its normal, and we should judge a person by their looks a little. however, i have to agree with you on this, will they ever evolve. im a student, n i aint stylish like other guys are..i wear shorts n tees almost everywhere...what pisses me off is that, sometimes when i enter a "high class" clothing store, the salespeople will give me one hell of a look as if theyre sayin "what the hell r u doin here, do u even have the money?". hehehe. where as actually, they dont realize, theyre only the workers. who get paid basically, LOWER salary than any other jobs. both the former n latter situations are different, and my point is, we need to have at least a little sense of immediate judgment, to avoid bad things to happen, but then again, make sure it does not backfire, like the 2nd situation. so yes, it is the matter of thinking. n a proper mentality is somthing that is not easilly changed or developed. but i believe that, human race can evolve into being better people, by making sure the upbringing of their children will be in the best way they can. so..its up to the new generation.. however again, hehe, by looking at these people of this new age, ill change my answer to a big NO. im sorry, but im afraid we do not have the ethics and mentality to evolve. we, humans are losing even ethics that even poor uneducated people in the past had. nowadays, plus sizes people are also judged as lazy n whatever especially by interviewers trying to recruit new staffs. so, i repeat, the answer is no. cheers.

Probably not. However there might be a little thing of interest here. Humans evolved over a long time - at least 2 million. In that time of evolving, food was always an issue. It is therefore people who can carry weight easily who are the survivors, Thin people are genetic throw backs. Thin people are currently vogue and so more likely to be chosen for breading and thus pass on their genes.

I can't deny the trend of pampering the good-looking ones, and indeed it is debasement of our professed intelligence. There are a few people, however, who are actually wary of extremely handsome or beautiful person since they believe that such people are usually 'spoiled' ones...... spoiled by unwarranted attention and preference all through their lives right from the childhood. The final answer though lies in totally ignoring the looks and peep inside to know the real worth of a person..... I can't see our general intelligence and wisdom reaching this stage even in the distant future, because we are basically sensual creatures.... what I mean is that it is through our physical senses that we are impacted the fastest and the most.

The human character evolves only on personal level but not on historical level.
I mean that we evolve as individual but from the beginning until now we have not changed: emotions, temperament... personality types are still the same.
So some people will always judge a person by their looks and some not.

I doubt it. We're animals. For breeding purposes, most people are drawn to certain physical characteristics considered "beautiful" or "sexy", or whatever you want to call it, that spark our inner sexual desires or needs. We will regard these people in a higher manner than less attractive people to perhaps win them over, or in a non-sexual manner we unknowingly submit to their "superiority". And I do believe the media and society have instilled certain prejudices, purposely or not, that will take years to overcome. For example, I know society has bred in me certain prejudices against different nationalities (I'm being honest here) that are totally unprecendented and false. However, let's say a 6'5" 300 lb man with a jaw line like Arnold Schwarzeneger, covered with tattoos, wearing all black, with a tough-guy swagger is the only other person in a parking lot late at night with me, I'm going to be a bit alarmed! And I think although some of my fear would be based on stereotypes, it's also an animal instinct to want to protect myself in unfamiliar situations or around unfamiliar people. I also had a situation where I worked at a horrible job with a really mean female boss, so when I'm around females in a managerial position at my current job, I am cautious and afraid that they will snap at me like my old boss. Even if they have given me no reason to feel that way. So I think we will continue to judge on appearances because of our animal instincts, society standards, and also our experiences. And sorry I put so many words in quotes, I usually make fun of people for doing that. LOL!

I highly doubt it. Humans are such animals with animal insticts. Preferring people with much more attractive physical physique is just part of the natural selection.
Looks is not everything... but Id be lying if I didnt say it played a big part on our preferences.
Animals do it. Humans will always do it.

People are too superficial to take the time to get to know someone, as long as they continue to be selfish, they will base opinions on looks. i'm sorry to say it, but it's true.

pretty people are always popular. we are driven by what we see. if we were not suppose to look at others because of their beauty, then god should not have made us to attract each other.
