Is there really and E Coli threat out there?

Question

Everytime I turn on the TV all I see is recalls because of E Coli, what gives, I can't eat trans fat anymore because fat people complain about being fat now I can't eat because E Coli is out to get me. Maybe we should consider E Coli a terrorist.

i worked in the food business for over 30 years and never heard the word E COLI because our sanitary rules were priority 1. we never wore plastic gloves either, we just washed our hands often and kept our hair short or wore hairnets or caps. note: only my opinion, plastic gloves contain more bacteria than clean hands as people tend to transfer more contaminants from handling different foods although they are suppose to change the gloves regularly it isn't realistic because of time restraints no one monitors this. that being said we used deli paper to pick up food and then discard it thus no transfer! i don't know about terrorists but the industry has been irresponsible and needs to be more vigilant.
