Nearest - Barn Owl - Which is basically a restaurant with a bar tacked on catering for the Holiday Inn Express next door

One I walk to - Royal Oak - Traditional boozer

One I use most (bus ride away in the city) - John Gandys - Modern, good beer, home cooked organic food.

I would recommend the last 2, haven't been in the 1st for over 6 months

My two locals are The Royal Oak and The Dukes Head. The names are traditional, but the people certainly aren't.

There are three that I frequent the most.
1) Benchwarmers
2) Kilroys
3) American Legion Hall.
And for live bands I go to JJ Kelleys. Good metal bands up there. The first two are good sports bars. The Legion is just a good old neighborhood bar.

The Star and The Beehive are equidistant from my house. They are both chav-filled dives and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I walk past six pubs to get to a decent one in my town!
