I bought ViaVoice 2000 and after trying it out many, many times, gave up in disgust..

There are now several new softwares on the market, all claimimg to be "New and Improved"... How good are they?,
Has anyone actually found one good enough to use, and reccommend?

My eyesight is going, and I can't face fighting both my PC AND the hassle of trying to get a crap Voice-recognition software to work......

Has anyone any familiarity with a prroduct I can buy with confidence, please`?

Thanks Both, - Since you've both named the same one, it's a very positive rccommendation, and I'll try it. Because of the URL link and impressive Demo that it led me to, (which I've tried) I shall probably give the Best Answer to Andrea, but I'm very grateful too to Life Doctor, because you actually use it and can vouch for it.

Sorry! I meant 'Life Professor', of course.
'Soul Doctor' is a Good Buddy, and I goofed!

My husband is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science and I asked him for advice.
I pasted his answer below, I hope it helps

A speech recognition software that I know is:
Dragon NaturallySpeaking http://www.nuance.com/naturallyspeaking/
You can use TalkPro USB 200 and BlueParrott TalkPro B150-GTX microphones from http://www.vxicorp.com for best quality.

Sincerely,
Andreea Fodor.

We use the Dragon Speaking program at work and it works much better than I expected. I don't use it because I don't want to sit there reading progress notes about each client aloud however. So I haven't used it a lot.
