Placemen of wire for spur socket?

Question

I want to add a spur socket in my living room. I have a socket on another wall witch has two wires in it so I believe it is on the main circuit. It is also a new socket that was fitted by an electrician when my new kitchen was rewired. I have old concrete skirting and plan to knock it off and replace it with a wood one. The question is can I put the new wire for the spur behing the new skurting as I can't take my floor boards up because I have laminate floor.

Please, unless you can find somebody to help you that knows what they are doing, don't mess with this. Any socket will have at least two wires to it. if it only has two coming in, it's at the end of the line. If it's on a kitchen circuit already, you may not want to add another outlet.... I can't say without knowing just how much is on that circuit already.

If you really want to run the wires behind the new baseboard, you'll need a place in it for them to run. You could route out a groove on the back side for this.

Do you happen to have a basement or crawlspace? if so, the easiest way to go is drop the lead under the house, then bring it up in the wall where you need to. They make special electrical boxes for remodels that will let you put the outlet about anywhere except were a stud is.

Really though, from the sound of it, you do not have the knowledge it takes to do this. Please don't attempt it. you're just asking for trouble.
