any ideas for presents to take and then birthday, christmas presents to send by post ?

for big bang, presents thank can go by an aeroplane from uk to cyprus, which will be useful not too big and remind them of their family back home.

Light fittings/lamps etc, are quite expensive out here, so if you're travelling over, you could bring something like that,or a pretty bed set, again, bedlinen can be quite expensive. How about pretty candles in holders ( we do often have power cuts if we have a particularly bad storm)
As far as sending stuff through the post, well, I'd go for more personal stuff like clothing! I've never been too impressed by the standard of clothing out here! Or how about having a family portrait taken in a studio? Put in a nice frame, it would make a nice keepsake.
Which part of Cyprus are they moving to? North or south? We live in Xylofagou! Best move we ever made! Wherever they go, I'm sure they'll be very happy. Its 5.45.p.m here, and a lovely warm 25C!

Things they will miss from home - tetley tea - branston pickle - Marmite - gravy powder and custard powder (the last two are the things my parents have been sending for the past 20yrs since I moved to Greece)

give em photos of ya selfs and of where they live in the uk (they will want to show people when they move over there)
send em HP sauce and proper chocolate etc.
