Anyone know of a tool/app to remotely check on the connection speed/strength of the Windows XP 802.11 connection (One that is managed by wireless zero, not the card vendor specific app)

Timmy - No, not what i'm looking for. I'm aware of signal strength testing and whatnot, what i'm looking for is being able to remotely (on a AD domain) to be able to check the signal strength of the wireless connection for that device. Just as i can remotely manage services, i want to check signal strength. Perhaps WMI provides something?

Well depending on the devices you might be able to use something like Mirotiks Monitor
http://www.mikrotik.com/thedude.php

It will show all wireless AP's and comptuers that are connected (which use compatible chipsets) There are others just this one is well, free.

Im not sure if this is what you are looking for, but a utility that I use for monitoring wireless signal strength is netstumbler. (http://www.netstumbler.com/downloads/)
The easiest way to monitor your connection remotely is to use some kind of remote control software to connect to your computer, such as logmein. (http://www.logmein.com/)
