There are pretty only Li-Ion batteries with some Li-Polymer batteries (which don't have any more capacity but have certain packaging advantages making them common in ultraportable computers).
In terms of the Amp Hour ratings AA cells are only 1.5 V nominal while laptop batteries typically output 10.6 V nominal meaning that the actual energy stored in the battery is quite a bit higher for a given Amp Hour rating (since that is the amount of current the laptop can deliver in one hour (ignore the fine print)).
