There is not much you can really say.........
The person whos heart is broken by another needs the time to heal on their own all you can do is be supportive & not make them feel bad but its their pain and they will need the time to heal all by themself ..................

Just take them out do something together sometimes actions are better than words because the pain is fresh ...
Go to dinner
Go to a movie to cheer them up get them out and about walking sometimes this can help them put things into prospective :))) Just listen and be supportive thats all you really can do :))

"Let's go to Tavern, hit Downings, skate at Roc, eat the
biggest banana splits we can find, try to get front row
seats at something hysterical and take a ferry over to
B and right back again, spit over the side and feel lucky to
live here! THEN...we'll get tiny little tats on the insides of
our ankles of our favorite wild animals.. followed by a total
change of hair color. THEN, we'll have a ceremonial
bonfire in a metal garbage can and burn all the pictures,
presents and especially private phone numbers to
discourage set backs. Then we'll make reservations
at a comedy club for the next night and do some other
outrageous things. There is nothing you can say that
will help, but these things are a good distraction for the
first few days. XX

You know it is a difficult situation, that's for sure. Hearts don't mend easy. You can say you are sorry things did not turn out as you hoped they would, and it's not that you aren't good people, just not good perhaps for each other. There are people who come into our lifes for a reason, for a season, and for a lifetime. All have their purpose even if it is just for a treasured memory. They leave footprints on your heart and you will always carry the trace of them. Sometimes strangely enough love is "letting go." Though it is hard there is the right someone out there for you....God brought you through it he'll take you to it....patience my friend....you are not alone, though through the dark times in your soul you often feel that way. It'll be ok.

No matter the pain right now the heart has the ability to heal itself and in due time will do so, but while you wait for it to heal you will have family and friends be their to help carry that pain with you because you are loved by them and by god and no matter what you may think at this time when you are at a low god will come and raise you up with his hand and show you the way because he has a plan for you, you just don't know it yet.

All disappointments are there for a reason.

Use the experience to move to a higher kind of life that doesn't depend on the actions of others for fulfillment. You are a complete universe within yourself...

and it just takes the right kind of knowledge to move into that kind of life.

If your heart is broken then it was at one time filled. That means you have the capacity to love and to love deeply. There is no finer human quality. You will love again and be loved again for that is the nature of existence. If you shield yourself from that you cease to live fully. Best Wishes

There's nothing to say. Give them a hug, a packet of Tim Tams, a shoulder to cry on and reassure them there isn't anything wrong with them.

A packet of tissues and a hot chocolate/good bottle of red wine wouldn't hurt either!

give her a hug, man, words can only prove one thing, some more love to fill that void says everything.

or if it's a him - give him a hug man, or if it's you go to that lovely friend of yours and get a proper hug man.

i say with absolute clarity and with nothing to gain from lying -
Everything gets better!

it's not the end of the world my dear. life is so sweet to be wasted on a broken relationship. there are others out there for you. just be real. be yourself rather than live up to the expectations of others,
