I told them 7 days before my period was due when i took a home test that showed i was pregnant. (2 days later it was confirmed by a doctor)
I am guessing i was 4 weeks maybe, i hadn't even missed my period yet when i told them.

We only started to tell people a around 6 weeks when I started having complications. We were both living in a dorm because I got pregnant right at the begining of the school year and so news travels fast and rumours even faster. When I started getting sick, missing school and having to go to the hospital a lot I had to clear up anything that might be said haha.
Our family was all at diffrent stages though. Our paretns were right away soon as I started bleeding and getting bedrests at 6weeks, the rest of my family found out right away from my family but my partners family besides parents were not told until I was around 12 weeks when I went to meet the family and they were all wondering why some girl from school was coming to thanksgiving. No pressure :p

8 weeks when we told family and 15 when we told everyone else and that was only because I was starting to get a visable bump. lol. My friends were in shock because I waited so long to tell them. Part of the delay was because it happened the month after we got married! We were so embarassed! It was a surprise! Sometimes it seems it doesn't matter what precautions you use God just has another plan. So it took a while for it to start feeling real. Even still it seems almost unreal. I guess I am still amazed.

We told our parents at about 4 weeks, as soon as we found out! I couldn't make them wait...we'd been going through a fertility doctor and they knew that, so they would have killed us if we wouldn't have told them.
Most family and friends we waited until 10 - 12 weeks. Some very close friends knew around the 6 - 10 week time, just depended on how often I talked to them and if they asked questions...I just couldn't lie!!

I told my family and a few close friends as soon as I found out at 4.5 weeks but we will wait till the second trimester to tell everyone else.
The link below makes a list of the pros and cons:
Advantages to Telling Early
Lots of support early in pregnancy
Able to share your good news and excitement
Earlier offers of physical help
More advice from others about practitioners
Help with early decisions
If you miscarry, you will have support from everyone
Disadvantages to Telling Early
Too much advice
Good news travels fast, you may not be the first to tell someone
If you miscarry everyone knew you were pregnant
Advantages to Waiting to Tell
Time to digest the news
Make decisions without input of others
If you miscarry you don't have to retract the pregnancy announcement
Disadvantages to Waiting to Tell
No help/support from others
If you miscarry everyone wonders why you are sad, and you have to backtrack your explanation
As you can see there is not a clear-cut answer. You might choose to tell early, knowing that if you had a pregnancy loss that you would need the loving support of family or friends in the grieving process. You may wish to wait until the risk of miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy has past before sharing the news of your pregnancy. There is not one right answer. What works for your family is the right way for you to share the good news.

I told my immediate family at 10 weeks with my first pregnancy and everyone else at about 13 weeks. With this pregnancy I told everyone at 2 weeks because my dates were mixed up and I thought I was already 12 weeks!!

I am 12 weeks and the only people who know are my Yahoo friends and my partner! LOL I am a bad person I know!
We are telling them at Christmas all together. That way no one can whine about being told last. They did that last time!!
With the twins we told Andrew's family at 14 weeks (they lived closer) and my grandparents at 4 months.
I like keeping it just between ourselves for awhile, because when you tell the family the war games begin.
