Is a 20% tip for a hairdresser good?
I don't really know the rule for this.
Your help would be appreciated.
Thank You.

Yes 15-20% of the bill = tipping range for hairdressers. If an assistant shampooed your hair - include $2 or so & designate it for him/her.

Hi Suzi...when I think of tipping, I think of tipping my hairdresser and a server at a restaurant differently.
For example, I don't even go by the percentage rule, what I do is I double the first number of the total cost of the bill, and that's my tip.
For example, it the bill is $24, I give a $4 tip. If the bill is closer to $25, I roundup a tad more if the service was really good.
Now, that is how I tip at a restaurant. When i get my hair done, or mani/pedi, I tip a little more because they are "tending" to you the entire time and of course, it's also based on the service
Play around with the doubling of the first number of the bill for your tip, it usually works out pretty good.
Good luck~

I base a tip of how good of a service I get.
