greens and browns that are still stylish but nonchalant-ish? anyone know what store sells stuff like that?

I am thinking that you like more understated and classic clothes. I am not sure what country or part of the USA you are in, but a place to try would be Coldwater Creek. (They most likely have a website too.) They have a lot of neutral colored items that are stylish yet simple and understated.
Another place is Newport News (newport-news.com). They have a lot of trendier clothes too, but plenty of "quieter" things as well, and most of their styles are available in a multitude of colors.

You may want to try Anthropologie or Urban Outfitters.
