Referent - Refers to something (doesn't really apply to water)
Susurrant - Whispering, Murmuring
Weren't - Hopefully you know what this means

If you're looking for a PERFECT rhyme AND it must be
related to waters... this will not work. The only perfect rhymes for current are:

deterrent, jurant, insurant (and the last two are rarely used), along with the homophone 'currant'

Now the word "torrent" fits your MEANING, and may also be a pretty good NEAR rhyme -- matches nearly all the sounds. And you may find it works in the lines you're writing.

But usually having the accented vowel NOT match makes for a weaker match (even for a near rhyme). What will more often work is a word in which the vowels match and the consonants are close, esp. if it ends in -nt.

Now these are mostly NOT connected to water, but they ARE good near rhymes for your word:

(ob)servant, fervent, serpent
inadvertent, verdant
urgent, detergent, divergent, insurgent, resurgent
merchant

OR you could use one lacking the /n/

sherbet, turret, hermit, surfeit, circuit

or, without the final /t/:

urban, turban, bourbon
German, sermon
burden, virgin
earthen, certain, curtain

also "turbulent" and "luxuriant" might work (and even fit the water theme), since the middle syllable is so lightly pronounced

per rent
during
perminent
furnace
hermit
warrent
weren't

Alot of things can rhyme even though they don't look like it. It really depends on how you say them or if in a song, the note at which they are sung
