I think everyone should help to make our conutry safe.Like in
America or England?

Carry a gun and be prepared blow there a s s's off! I think it is going to be up to us individually to protect ourselves cause the law does not seem to be capable!

IMO, the rising crime rate is caused by the following:-
1) People are getting poorer and are finding it harder to forge a living in Malaysia. There were sociology and criminology studies that always suggest that rising crime rate and falling standard of living are correlated.
2) Our police force is not well equipped and is not well trained... on average, how many of our law officers hold a diploma of criminology? Go ask, you'll be surprised... from all those that I've asked... none of them have had any formal training in solving crime. So, ever wonder why our police men are so sloppy in handling criminal evidence?
3) The composition of the police force is too lopsided... too many special branch officers to keep track of the opposition party leader and too many FRU to keep the people in check but too few law enforcer to walk the street to maintain law and order...
So Solution? Simple...
1) Equip the police force with proper equipment and crime solving training.
2) Sack the special branches and FRU, replaced them with uniformed policemen or women that would walk the beat on the street.
3) Legalised firearm in home.... if people can keep gun at home.... robbers and rapist would think twice before you know what.... of course the down side is, you'll get some nut case go shooting everyone in sight from time to time... also we could use the firearm to topple the current corrupted government and install back our glorious monarchy.... Ha ha ha ha...

Create an education program to teach young men that no means no. What separates man from animal is we can control urges. Teach your peers that just because they want to have sex doesn't mean they get to have sex.
Then, create negative consequences if someone breaks the rule. (social stigma, jail time, etc.)

Goodness ; there aren't too many people who would call America safe when referring to crime.
You need to amend your laws. At the monment it is too easy for rapists to get away with their crime. More support needs to be given to the women who are the victims.
