A court order regarding access to children is not being adhered to by my husbands ex wife. Is there anything we can do without building up yet more hefty bills from solicitor

Under the Children and Adoption Act 2006 breach of an order of this kind is punishable by ordering the culprit to do Community Service. Your husband's ex will have been warned of the consequences of breaching the order when it was made. Perhaps if you wave the Act at her and tell her that your husband is thinking of taking the case to court to apply for an enforcement order, she will mend her ways. Otherwise, there's no reason why your husband shouldn't go to court and lay a complaint against her (they'll show you how to do it) and represent himself. http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2006/20060020.htm

yes with ease a refusal or compliance to a courts order will tantamount to contempt of court and it attracts severe punishment and penalties., howev er the simple way is better ventilate/highlight your grievance ina media/newspaper so that it can be taken as suomoto by the competent court and they can initiate an action without proceeding through the regular filing of suit and other mess associated with it or else your husband's exwife may equally respond to this and u can expect a positive result with this try this or better get counselling from an advocate /solicitor who will be rendering free of cost try something

Ask the judge to issue a contempt citation. The woman may end up spending time in jail.
