Hi I was about 33 weeks along when I went on maternity leave with my first son, as I just found it difficult holding down a full time job which involved spending lots of time on my feet. It was bliss just chilling out at home planning for things to come!

To be frack with you, it depend on your health. If by 7 months you are getting weak and weak every day, make sure you start your Maternity leave 6 week before your Delivering Date.
And if you are strong enough, I mean you did not have any complain like swallow of legs, by 8 months you can start your Maternity Leave, but then when you are in the house, make sure do an exercise like stroling, please do not sit in a place.

You are allowed to start maternity leave 11 weeks before the baby is due that's what I did. So that made me 29 weeks pregnant.

I was only 29weeks with the first because I had problems with my pelvis and pain. But I went to 34 weeks with the second and had 6 blissful weeks at home. In hindsight though, I coul've gone another 2-3 weeks at work because the last 2 weeks at home did get a little boring but i did get to nap a lot!
One of my collegues finished work on the friday and had a scheduled c-section on the monday. If i knew my date I wouldn've taken at least 2 weeks off before baby but she's a workaholic!

I'm 37 weeks and am going to work until the end of next week ( in theory) I would go crazy sitting about at home and prefer having the time off after the baby's born. Saying that it all depends on your health.

I was 32 weeks, I would have liked to work on longer, but being a Head Chef in a busy hot kitchen I think I was becoming a danger to myself and others so I had to stop.....and now I'm 35 weeks and soooo bored!!!!

I had mine all after the birth! Was working the day I had her - although she was early. Having said that, I had a sit down job and was training people so no real stress.
