Born in 1933. Put in a children`s home about `37. Evacuated (without family) in 1939 (outbreak of war) and put to live with total strangers, who turned out not nice. Thus I spent my boyhood throughout the war, with these `strangers`.
I didn`t even know I still had family member dispersed around the country (including my mother) until I was 17. So no, mine was a very unhappy and lonely childhood.

Yes, I must say I did, even though it was marred by fame (I did acting in movies & TV). I had to miss school a lot & have tutoring & stuff, which couldn't have been good for me, but I still had a lot of fun.

Many say that fame ruins your childhood, but I think it enriched mine.

I agree. Your childhood decides what kind of person you'll be. It is a crucial point in life.

I did tho I was lonely as I was an only child and I did not have many friends. I was lucky in that my parents were quite well off I used to take me on nice holidays, and buy me nice things! Overall my childhood was ok, tho some of the time I was bullied quite badly, which gave me low self esteem.

To live in a time "where stranger danger' was non-existant, to play outside all day with the only parental requirement was "come home when the streetlights come on" When your only contact with home during a days play was stocking up of food for a picnic in the creek.................it's not how come, more........ todays kids are never going to know that freedom!

i had very little nice time in my childhood, that's why when i have a baby, i will make sure they enjoy every minute.
and ya it shapes how you grow up..
but with will power no matter what you go through, you can make the rest of your life MAGICAL.
