no it doesn't no need to seal the plaster, if your going to paint just do a mist coat first (watered down white emulsion) this will give you a good base coat for your top coat, do not PVA

The above answer is right, but you will be able to tell if it needs sealing if you try and paint a bit as it will be absorbed really easily and you will need loadsa coats to cover it.

no wallpaper paste WONTseal it ! i suggest it might already be seald as there is no way of telling by the eye as the sealing agent dries in clear pva&water mixed, the best way is to try a patch,, hope this helps

the fact that it has had paper on it all this time will mean that it has indeed been sealed,it would have been sealed by the adhesive used by the paper.

it should be sealed by now thanks to your paper paste but it would help if u pasted the wall again just to be on the safe side

Wouldn't hurt to give it a lick of anti-fungal wallpaper paste - leave to dry before covering.
