A tip is a gratuity - a show of thanks.. give as much as you want, there isn't "too much" if you are feeling generous you should give as much as you want. Usually delivery people get most of their income from tips not a weekly paycheck (those are so small!), so the more you give = the more you are helping someone out. I've worked in a tip-based job and believe me, every penny is appreciated! If you can/want to tip above and beyond the 10% - by all means, you will be appreciated, receive even better service the next time, and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped make someone's night a little better and helped them make ends meet. If it's really bad weather or a really busy night (like a football night) or a super slow night (where you know they aren't getting many tips) I say the tip should be WAY more than 10%. I grew up in Colorado and every bad winter snowstorm we ordered a pizza because we didn't want to go out, so we always tipped the delivery guy/girl above and beyond necessary because they had to brave the weather, travel on the bad roads, and still be friendly and punctual.
Once I received a $50 tip. It helped me SO much! I was really struggling for money and VERY worried about being able to pay all of my bills on time that week. The only money I made was from tips (NO paycheck!) and it was a slow week so I was VERY thankful and relieved! It was a huge burden off my shoulders! Of course I don't expect people to tip $50 for a pizza, but you get the idea. You're only doing good for the delivery person the more you tip them, and there is no limit on kindness. =)

you've spoiled the question...I was thinking [without knowing about the tips] that it is one very general....but okay, now. Tipping is fair somewhere 10 and 15 percent in my opinion. Depending on the speed of delivery and some personal qualities of the guy/ girl. Like politeness/talkativeness/charme.

i give a dollar to two .. but the currency is different where i am from where you are, so a dollar or two is reasonable.. less than that,.. the person seems cheap... more than that.. they're just showing off..
