deter / delay you from immediately reporting that you may have seen her?

Would you have the courage to go right ahead & report a sighting
at the risk of being accused of being an attention seeking fool, if you were proved wrong?

Is doing all you can to find a missing child, worth taking the risk of being called an attention seeking fool, if proved wrong?

I would...and i do hope no one will be deterred by many mistaken sightings to refrain from reporting sightings of a missing child ever.

I wouldn't report it - I'd go right up to the people. WHY is no-one doing this?!?! I don't get it. If I saw Madeleine McCann I would most certainly go up to the people there - wouldn't you? Surely then Madeleine would have been found months ago. However if I saw her in a car then I would report it. I wouldn't care about the risk of being called a fool - it's a chance that a 4-year old girl will be returned to her family after 6 months of pain and anguish for all of them against the risk of having someone say 'you're a fool'. Hmmm......gonna have to think about that! Stupid huh?

However there is one thing that I really don't understand - why is Gerry McCann going back to work and Kate McCann simply sitting at home. If I had children and one of them went missing I would go out and physically look for her. It would be better than trying to get back to 'normal' (which it never will be) and relying on others to find your daughter for you. I'd sell my house then travel the world going to all of the shanty towns around North Africa and other places where there have been sightings handing out leaflets and spreading the word.

That's just my view =D

I could care less what anyone thought if I reported a child that I knew was missing or about anything else. I don't live my long life worrying about other people's negative thoughts. If I truly believed I'd spotted Madeleine I would do my best to get her away from whoever had her. I may be old but I'm fiesty. If I couldn't do it alone I'd scream, yell, whatever it took to attract attention and get help.

A 1 day old baby was stolen from the hospital in Sudbury, Ont. Canada and luckily found the next day 5 hrs away thanks to survelinance tapes and our amber alert system. . Thank God for the safe return of that baby.

Hopefully the McCann's will have a happy ending to their torment as well.

I would like to think that I would go one step further than that and try to get close enough to look at her eyes.

However, all the reported sightings of Madeleine are likely to be mistaken. With the distinguishing feature of her eyes, anybody keeping Madeleine captive would be unlikely to risk taking her out in public, in my opinion.

I hope she is well and happy somewhere. Kids are quite resilient and if she is being treated well, she possibly thinks by now that she is where she is meant to be.

I would report it immediately, without hesitation. And if I'm wrong, I'd rather be called an attention seeking fool than living with myself for not reporting it.

I most certainly would, no matter what consequences may come of my actions. Madeleine is totally worth it.

I wouldn't care at all. If I saw her I would scream, yell, kick, bite, whatever it took to get the child into my arms.

It live thinking "I wish I hadn't done that" than to live forever with a million "what ifs?"

So I would not hesitate to contact the police

i think if anyone delays reporting what they believe to be her then they care far to much what people think. it is far worse not to report it and it be really her to report it and be branded an attention seeker, at least you'll be able to sleep at night.

I would.
The publicity is such that nobody should mind if someone asked to have a closer look at their child's eyes if they have nothing to hide.

I would phone that help line even if I thought it was Maddie. I could not live with myself if I did nothing.
