I hate third shift.

Boo, Cali... Boo! Productive... yeah, right.

In fairness... I'm an Emergency Medical Technician... I don't really have anything to do unless someone gets hurt or dead or something.

Ta Dah... Do you know what a paramedic makes? They DO NOT pay me enough to be productive the whole time I'm here. My partner is sleeping and I'm bored... so *pbbth* to you, sir!

As a fellow shift worker, I understand your predicament.

I have done the following on the graveyard when by myself:
- Covered the computer and desk in post-its for the next shift.
- Written a trivia quiz (100 lines from songs off the top of my head....takes forever!)
- Waste paper basketball (if you cover the ball in tape you are dead set cheating)
- Having said that, a taped up paper ball will bounce off a wall pretty well...unless it's a partition wall, in which case you may have to spend some time finding a poster big enough to be strategically placed over the damage.
- Ring the local radio station and make dumbass requests for songs that don't exist.
- Send emails to people you haven't seen for ages (if you have an organisation internal mail it's much easier to find them)
- Keep posting questions on YAHOO!

Good luck getting to dawn!

I can't believe some of the answers! Your in the right place hun and we will keep you awake. Hootie Hoo! Write down everything you have to do tomorrow. Get bills figured out. Goals, writhe them down. I'm been just where your at and if you don't have anything to do you just have to keep yourself busy to stay awake. Drink plenty of coffee. I know one co-worker who went to school also and would do her homework on third. I'd like to give a shout out to Kim. I shouted to help keep you awake lol.

I work Audit at a Executive Inn. In my spare time. I do projects, draw or listen to my ipod because its quite. I suggest that maybe a good book or writing or maybe a text message conversation with a friend at this time would do you justice.

Make strange UFO sounds, and when your co-workers give you strange looks, raise your eyebrows and say "what?" as if everything is normal.
Guaranteed to make sure you never get invited to a cocktail party ever again.

Research jobs online that you can apply to that you won't hate so much. Maybe look into some online schools to certify in a job that you'll actually enjoy.
