I've read or heard several reasons why people may be more easily irritated these days... everything from lack of enough sleep to fluorescent lighting on the job.
Personally, I'm not all that sure that people are any more irritating now than they were years ago. The only difference is that we have so many new forms of communication and ways to pass news along quickly that the irritation people feel is more obvious and immediately known.
I think folks could be just as irritating when we didn't know as much about the world as they are now that we do. I don't see any reason to think the 'crab' or the 'whiner' or the 'ne'er-do-well' weren't just as present in past millenia as they are now. We just see them on TV and other media more, that's all. Maybe this adds to some people's irritation when they wouldn't be irritated otherwise, which is a real shame. Well... I guess we just have to learn to deal with it or not deal with it at all.

I think that many people get irritated when a desire is unfulfilled, If you observe in your life you will see that you get angry and irritated when your desire is not fulfilled. A desire may be anything like, if your mother dosent make a good meal if you are hungry, etc.
In Present times many people in the world have lots of desires, tensions, stress, many are suffering from anger. Even our mind, today, is not controlled.All these are causes of irritation.

The Chinese textile industry has accidentally placed the wrong sized tags on underwear, which has caused everyones undies to be two sizes too small. That will make most people very irritable.
