I am considering starting a resin model, however this will be my first time doing so. I have assembled models in the past so this is not completly new. My question is this....Do resin models require glue? I know they require paint, but what kind of paint exactly?

Having built several dozen resin kits (figures, aircraft, armor)... YES, you need glue.

I normally use Zap-a-Gap (Krazy glue). I've also learned to drill SMALL holes and use PINS (cut paperclips) to help hold parts together.

Resin normally requires MORE work in preparing to paint: filing, filling, and primer. But, I used a standard model primer (TESTORS), and either enamel or acrylic model paints (Testors, Tamiya, Polly-Scale, Floquil, etc)

GOOD LUCK and have fun !!

The link I'm sending you is to Cody's Coop. He deals primarily with anime figurines and mecha, which might not be your thing. But he does do step by step tutorials which will help you if you are willing to take the time to read them. His work is incredibly detailed, very clean, and he also takes the time to teach you how to readjust your model if you don't like the way it came out of the box.
Just click "how to" at the top of the page.

I hope this helps!
