I am just curious because I have this eerie feeling the United States will suffer another attack or some catoustropic event and declare elections suspended indefinately and affirm his role as head of government as he imposed an executive priviledge declaring he could be head of government in event of such disaster. I am unsure of exactly what order it is but it is real. Anyway my question is what do you think would happen if my scenario happens??? Will Bush be last ruler of America? Will the people revolt? Will martial law be enacted and guns be collected????

Well Well, look at what Mussarif did in Pakistan-suspended the constituion, took total control over government, has all protesters arrested even lawyers, fired supreme court judge etc. Gee, wonder if Bush/Cheney have this planned?

I remember this same question when Clinton was going to leave. A few days more even if there was another 9/11 at the very most. besides. Congress would stay too and I believe,, with their low rating they have now, Republicans would lose on that part.

Not likely. His term is up next year. The most any president can serve is 8 years if re-elected. The US is a pretty big country to strike down. They tried in New York but obliviously they pulled together and bounce back within a month. So, I don't believe America will be breaking up anytime this century. America is pretty self-sufficient. They can stand their own ground and support one another during a crisis which makes them intimidating to other countries because they have the ability to bounce back quickly. They have always been a fighting country since the very beginning. And the president doesn't always have the final say. He can be overruled by Congress.

None of this will happen. Lincoln had to run during the Civil War, and would have left office had he lost. FDR had to run for re-election during WW II, and also would have had to leave office had he lost.
So history shows that no matter what is taking place, the American election process goes on. Bush will leave office in January 2009.

If President Bush somehow starts war with Iran, according to law, he does not have to leave office in times of war. We already heard that the Iraq war is scheduled till 2015, so will bush persue this to fullfil the neocon dreams of unitarian power. You bet your butt. He can cancel the elections too. Nice ey, and given the track record of this dirty president and his cronies, we are in for a rough ride.
I received a call from the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) just last night, and they are very worried this is whats going to happen!

This reminds me of Africa. You will never know. Politicians are good philosophers, they can predict things because they make it possible to happen. Yes, if Bush declares a marshal law and says that he will stay in power for some time due to a catastrophic event than I am sure, American people will accept that. Because, it is easy to deceive Americans. The government uses the media to reach them, remember all that terror-alert color coded chart?. Or how the media convinced that Saddam Hussein was miles away from Washington DC and detonating a nuclear bomb?. So many people were cheering, and thought they were in danger, and the government was telling the facts. OPS!,, Now it is all "We Support Our Troops, Bring Them Back Home"

The exact same thing was said about Clinton in his last term. He won't and can't. Why would you chose an avatar name of the two boys that killed so many at Columbine. Odd.

When considering your fears, I am reminded that there is yet another worse case scenario and that is Hillary in the WH.
In that case, I wouldn't mind if Bush stayed over until she either died or, was legally declared a danger to herself and others.

Someone posted a link to that national security letter or whatever it was a couple days ago. Yes, it's real.
OK, I found it. It's Presidential Directive 51. Here's a link:
