To calculate this, you first find 20% of 130dollars
[ 20/100 *130]$ =26
therefore,130 dollars minus 26dollars is the amount paid for the thing is 130-26 =104 dollars.
With this method, you can calculate the final amount.

To calculate the percent:

1. convert the percent into decimal. (ex. 20% will be .2)
20/100 = .2
2. getting the 20% of a price. (ex. 20% of 130 will be 26)
130 * .2 = 26.0
3. the final amount. (ex. Original price minus the % discount)
130 - 26 = 104
4. enjoy shopping.

20% of 130 is 130 x 20 / 100 = 26 dollars. That is the discount. So, you would pay 130 -26 = 104 dollars.

If x is the percentage of y, the actual value will be 100x/y

Discount is 20% of 130 = 130X(20/100)
=26
So selling price = Cost Price - Discount
=130-26
=104
Got it.

20% is as good as 20/100

Thus 20% of 130 = (20/100)* 130
= 26

20% off = 130 - (20% of 130)
= 104

...hope this helps!!

If for example the question is 63% of 230. All you have to do is write the sum as a fraction like this 63/100
remember percent is always out of one hundred. so always divide the denominator with 230 which is 2.30 and times it with the numerator so 2.30 times 63

Holp this helps
