I'd manage the team if I could have Willie "Pops" Stargell, Roberto Clemente, Bill "Mad Dog" Madlock, Bert Blyleven, Kent Tekulve, Manny Sanguillen, Jim Rooker, John Candelaria, Elroy Face, Bill Mazorowski on my roster

Ever since the Pirates promoted Cam Bonifay from Scouting Director, the team went downhill in a hurry. Of course, Bonds departing didn't help, but the Bonifay-Littlefield era will go down as 15 of the worst years in sports history.

This is a difficult job for anyone to desire due to the recent ineptitude. The job would be quite a challenge.

No manager with any experience will take the job. However, if a guy wants to prove he can manage in MLB, this is his big opportunity. That is exactly why the Pirates are meeting with guys like Joey Cora, Joel Skinner and a host of minor league managers that want to take that big step up and prove themselves. It is a no lose situation for a rookie manager that wants to live a dream. And YES, I would manage them in a heart beat!

Some idiot will take the job and actually believe he can turn it around with the current owners in place. Then, in 3 or 4 years, he'll leave beaten down like the rest of them, wondering what could have been if only the owners were willing to spend a buck or two.

Why? It's obvious their ownership don't want to make any improvements whatsoever so why go Manage the team & be made the scapegoat when the real ones to blame for the teams demise are their stingy owners?

The same can be said about my Orioles. It's a shame, these two franchises were once great and they both have owners that don't care about the team or the fans.

id do it, they do have some pieces with potential, i think all the young arms they have have a lot of potential, and a manager with the know how, could bring them along and make them better, plus you add in players like ronny paulino, freddy sanchez, yeah i think the bucs could certainly get a lot better
