I do not believe in God, or any other form of afterlife. The Human is simply an organism, when it dies, it dies in all forms including body, mind, and the concept which some call soul.

The primary reason behind consciousness is to block the mind from partaking in the mind-at-large, the knowledge of all things at all times. This kind of knowledge must be prevented for most, in order that "progress" may be obtained.

While many may ponder the meaning of life, or simply leave it at 42, I have found that this meaning cannot be discovered. There is no meaning to life, it is a pointless cycle. The only reason that society and civilization are moved forward is because of those who have not yet realized the inevitability of their doom. While their plight may seem trite and inconsequential, it is not.

Nothing perceived during this lifetime is inconsequential, because of the severity of its length. Every second is the final chance to live that moment. There is no return, no starting over, just present and future. The past is a invisible concept never truly realized by any person, place, or thing.

The only thing left to do is to enjoy oneself and hope to leave a mark on the future during this momentary blip on the fabric of time; life.

I was clinically dead for a couple of minutes and I didn't see my life pass before my eyes, however I did see a vast darkness with spots kind of like stars. I described this when I woke up and there was nothing like that around. So I think our essence, soul if you want, may float out of our bodies and could end up in another body someday. Donate your organs to science to help others live, you won't need them anymore.

My personal opinion?

I think life goes on beyond death.

I dont know where we go, or what happens after we have finished in that place, etc...

Even though I have been brought up 'Christian', I actually think the Hindu belief that we are ultimately consistently reincarnated, is a pretty good and logical idea.

Whether we are reincarnated on Earth or in a different world - that's a different story altogether...

I've done the same thing wondering. But my conclusion is no matter how much we'd like to know, or no matter what anyone says or thinks. I'm just gonna have to wait and see until that day comes, because thats the only way we'll ever find out the truth.

I like to beleive we all go somewhere happy, perhaps heaven. I'm not a strong believer in the concept of heaven but I do think that we all go to the place that appeals to us the most, and spend prehaps eternity there? In blissful peace.
But also I believe that it is possible to be reincarnated.

As for the concept of us dying, body, mind and the "concept" of the soul, I feel i have to disagree....
What do you think sets up apart from animals? Intelligence?
No, its much more than that. Its a conscience. The ability to love, to regret, to feel.

I believe there are some who's spirt is so lost that they do not go to the "other" place, i also believe that the dead have to be allowed to go to the "other" place.
I cannot say why I believe this as I will sound like a freekie weirdie person.

I hate to inform you of this, but you have already died. And this life you think you are experiencing, is the penalty for criminal actions you committed. After you sentence is up, you are then revived intact, and you are returned to your previous job as a mattress an hammock tester.
