How could I solve this problem?

If (-4, 1) is an ordered pair of the function f(x), then which of the following would be an ordered pair of f ^-1(x)?

1) (1, -4)
2) (4, -1)
3) (4, 1)
4) (-1, 4)

The ordered pair (-4,1) means f(-4)=1. You need the inverse function to 'undo' what the function does. So you want f^-1(1) = -4. This is the ordered pair (1,-4).
The answer is 1
