Why does my wife after 12 years of marriage. Get mad over no buying her something for anniversary, birthday, Hallmark Hoildays etc.

Those are special days to her. She stayed with you this long, don't you think she deserves a little acknowledgment? Just because you're married to her for 12 years doesn't mean you stop saying or showing that you love her. On the other hand, if she doesn't reciprocate, then she's selfish.

Just because you have been married for 12 years does not mean that you should stop celebrating these things. Have you always done this? If so why don't you get her something for them? Everyone would like to be celebrated every now and then. I would not think her selfish for wanting you to acknowledge your anniversary or her birthday.

Well a small card would help. It sounds like she want to know that you still care. You can even make a card. Being married for 12 years does not mean that the romance is over with. If you give a card and a small gift it means that you have still a care and interest for her. Take her out to dinner and show her that you still do. It will be great for your marriage.

I remember when my husband did not give me a card for Valentines day. It was not that I needed for him to tell me he loved me but I like to have something special between us. He always is thoughtful and knows it means a lot to me.

because even after 12 years, she likes to feel special, just like you do. she likes to have those days where you not only remember the special day or holiday, but you remember her, and all the memories you two have made over the years, a day where you take the time and do something special to say "honey I love you and I always will"
it's special, and important to her, and if you can find something small to do, that you can make a romantic event out of, why not do it, to show her how much you love her?

that's not selfish! not getting the stuff is being selfish!!! 12 years together and not even a card? or flowers? nothing to symbolize the fact that you actually appreciate and acknowledge the person that has slept next to you for 12 years? Listen, its the smallest things in life that mean a HUGE deal...buy the freaking cards candy and flowers!!!

and quit being a selfish husband for Godsake!

Well I don't think its being selfish. Does she buy you stuff for your b-day and anniversary etc?? If she does, I could see why she would be upset. Its just nice to see you remembered and that the day is special to you both.

These things are obviously important to her. She probably feels that since you love her they would be important to you too. Especially your anniversary since that is the day that you both took your vows and openly declared your undying love for each other.

She's not selfish at all. But here's a thought...Maybe as a gift this year, you'll give her a real man who will treat her with respect and love.

Would you want to celebrate the aniversary of the day you guys got married? It's as special as a holiday.
