We are born, we die, we evolve, we become extinct. There is no reason. We as humans have probably reached our final stage of eveloution like the dinosaurs did 65 million years ago. Unchecked global warming and plague will finally wipe us out. and the monkeys with us. But the end of humanity wont be the end of the world. A stronger species probably from the insect world maybe the cockroach will take over. Who knows in another hundred million years of eveloution they may have colonized other worlds in other solar systems. Wont it be grand if our cousins the cockroach make it?

I fully agree with you that we are what we are because we became this way. There is no scientific evidence to make us think that we are the culmination of evolution, because science doesn't show us that evolution is ever complete. We are definitely a species that changes our environment, and we haven't always (and don't have now) had enough sense to preserve conditions that will preserve our own species. Even if we are one of the few species that is able to look to the future and plan ahead, we don't make wise use of that capability. I'm worried for our youth. Have we already passed a point of no return on environmental damage? It sure doesn't seem as if we are willing to do what it takes to change our current path.

Because MOST people need "reasons" to DO things... -If you don't point them in a given direction & give them a little "shove"- They'll STAND there until Death Valley freezes over, & ask "Why..?"... The REST of us- are "Self-Starters..."- Life in itself is Enough for us- and we don't NEED answers for everything... Our "Security" is within US- not in "reasons..." found elsewhere. :)
