If you're going to use your laptop on ac power most of the time, it may be best to remove the battery, but you should also calibrate the battery regularly. You won't hurt the computer, but the life of your battery will depend on how you care for it, this is very good information about caring for your battery:

Yea it will ruin your battery. Take the battery out if your computer if your going to have it plugged in. I have had a Sony Vaio for a year now and the battery wont last for longer than 10 minutes off the charger.

It is not advisable to leave the charger plugged to the laptop for too long because it will overheat the battery. Unless you are charging and the laptop is turned on simultaneously there is no problem. As long as you are charging the battery there is no problem but leaving it there for a long time will damage the life duration of the battery.

NO! it will damage the battery.
If you tend to keep it plugged in all the time, then just take the battery out and put it in if you take it somewhere.
If you must leave it in, then make sure that once a week, you unplug it and let the battery drain all the way down to when the computer says it needs to be recharged.
HP/Compaq says:
Remove the battery if the notebook will be plugged into AC power continuously (via a wall adapter or docking station) for more than 2 weeks.

I think it will do as much damage as it would not keeping it plugged in. If you commonly have it plugged in (like 95% of the time) you could just take the battery out, so no damage is done to it and you can still use the cpu

It will reduce the capacity of the battery over a longtime. eventually, your battery won't last very long, and then you'll be forced to keep it plugged in. So, it's a bad idea.

It may lessen the life of your battery. But if you keep it plugged in all the time maybe you don't care about that.

you shouldn't keep it constantly plugged in. batteries sort of develop a memory and if your is constantly charging, it won't hold a charge very long. extend your battery life by charging it fully and letting it almost die.
